Question So who is interested in the new AMD 6 core processers?

I have been reading lately about the new AMD 6 core processers, and would like to know who else is interested in getting one.

I have been debating building me and Joanna some new systems as of late considering that most of my hard drives are getting up there in age,(most are getting close to 10 years old, but the newer ones are the ones that are dropping like flies!) I am wanting to build something that I can cool without sounding like a jet is taking off in my room! Got to love those 80x38mm monsters!

Is there anyone else out there looking at all the articles?

Don't know, but then again when do we get to having too many cores and it causes conflict with our programs. I know that some of my programs hate the 2 core systems that I am running right now, what will happen when there is 6-12 cores, and 16 gig of ram on one system?

I was actually at the Moscone Center in San Francisco last fall when AMD announced these processors.

I recently upgraded, so I'm not in the market for one, but I have no doubt that more and more cores are the way of the future, and would not hesitate to buy one.

If they are based on the same tired architecture (save for a few tweaks here and there) they have been using since the first AMD64, I would not bother. If it is a new design, completly, then maybe I would consider it over another Intel design. Amd has not been able to compete with Intel in performance since core came out. Though Amd has had the price/performance ratio pretty much on their side for a while, The point is still the same.
